PEACE LEAVES NO RUINS

Albania 

Beneath the wounded sky, the light withdraws,

while the thunder erases lives.

Night descends on the wings of bombardment,

while the ocean of hatred

feasts upon the tears of the innocent.

Beneath the rubble,

a child calls for his mother,

with a voice barely more than a whisper,

defying death.

In his eyes, fixed upon the void,

the dream of a home still wanders.

Seas of tears flow without shores,

each wave carrying an innocent face.

Who could gather so much sorrow

without their soul shattering between their fingers?

And yet, from the devastated fields,

incandescent lilies emerge:

they do not burn, they guard the flame

of those who have never stopped believing in humanity.

Peace is not born of weapons,

but of the courage to break the cycle of hatred;

not of victories written in blood,

but of the choice to save every life.

And when the final blast fades into silence,

when the sky opens its wounds to the light once more,

no child will ever again have to ask why

the hand of man destroys what it creates.

Then the incandescent lilies will bloom

across the lands war sought to silence,

and from the rubble a voice will rise,

stronger than iron, fire, and death:

PEACE IS NOT A DREAM TO BE BEGGED FOR,

IT IS HUMANITY’S HIGHEST DUTY.
